Only a Hero Will Do

WHAT IF YOUR favorite superheroes had Regency-era doppelgangers? And what if a group of them were recruited to gather intelligence during the Napoleonic Wars while they protected their own parts of the realm?

You’d get A Heart of a Hero series.

Defender of the realm…and his wary heart…

Elizabeth Atwell has little love for the ton and its rules—ladies should snare an eligible gentleman of similar rank and wed him. Clever, and a whizz at solving puzzles and codes, she has instead pledged her heart to the Legion, a secret organization created to destroy anyone who might compromise the security of the British state.

Captain Grant Alexander, one of the Legion’s finest agents, has eschewed marriage; his life would be incompatible with a wife or happy home. His mission is to capture Typhon, the traitor whose ultimate goal is to destroy the Crown.

Hot on Typhon’s tail, Grant is introduced to Elizabeth, who has been assigned to break codes sent by Typhon’s gang. He’s immediately intrigued by this viscount’s daughter, her beauty, and extraordinary abilities. But although temptation beckons, he knows that, socially, they are worlds apart, and there can be nothing more between them.

However, headstrong and wanting to play more of a role in defending the realm, Elizabeth insists they fight Typhon’s threat together. Grant is torn between pushing her away and wanting to seduce her. What else can he do except try to protect her?
