Dragon Age: The Masked Empire

A thrilling tie-in to the award-winning Dragon Age™ games, where alliances are forged, and promises broken in the battle for the Orlesian throne.

Dragon Age: The Masked Empire follows Empress Celene of Orlais, who rose to power through wisdom, wit, and ruthless manipulation. As war looms between the templars and mages, and rebellion stirs among the elves, Celene must keep her hold on the throne by any means necessary.

Grand Duke Gaspard, a skilled Chevalier, begins to doubt Celene’s diplomatic approach as chaos threatens the empire. Perhaps a new leader, one who lives by the Chevalier’s Code, is needed to make Orlais strong again.

Briala, Celene’s handmaid since childhood, subtly uses her position to improve the lives of elves across Orlais. As Celene’s confidante, spymaster, and lover, Briala must decide where her true loyalties lie when politics force the empress to choose between the elves and the throne.

In this epic Dragon Age novel, the fate of the masked empire may ultimately be decided by the elves who hide in the forests or starve in the slums.
